Field Notes: The World's Longest City Exhibition at Perth Design Week 2025
A photography exhibition exploring Perth’s urban sprawl, design, and identity, sparking meaningful conversations about the future of our city.
The World's Longest City photography exhibition and photo book launch, part of Perth Design Week and in collaboration with Activate Perth, has come to a close. It’s been an incredible experience to see such a diverse group of people engage with the work.
I was fortunate to connect with individuals from organisations like the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, Curtin School of Design and the Built Environment, The Art Gallery of Western Australia | AGWA, and government members such as Dr. Brad Pettitt MLC. The rich conversations about urban sprawl, design, and Perth’s evolving identity reminded me of the importance of this project.
Using art as a tool to spark dialogue has always been my goal, and I’m hopeful that this exhibition will contribute to how we imagine and shape our city’s future.
A special thank you to Sandy Anghie and David Smith from Perth Design Week and Benita Ferrari from Activate Perth for their support and for helping bring this project to life.
And of course, to everyone who attended, connected, and shared their thoughts—thank you for making this experience so meaningful.
